Review “A comprehensive treatment of electronic integrated circuits. . . .Well written and supported with an extensive glossary.”–Choice
Many engineers and scientists must have a grasp of integrated circuit (IC) capabilities and the design of application specific integrated circuits (ASIC’s), with an appreciation of processing, device, behavior, and practice. This book gives comprehensive coverage of IC’s The first of three parts deals with processing, component formation, and device modelling. The chapters that follow focus on digital and analogue circuits, including semiconductor memories, with performance summaries of commercial products. The final part fully explains the nature of ASIC’s and covers VSLI scaling and the dominant role of interconnection in the scaling process. Though this information benefits all researchers, the book was written primarily for students in electronic engineering and applied physics.
